Aldia still has some orchards in the hills of the Flemish Ardennes where the company is located.  The main part is covered with plantations of mirabels, a small yellow plum which is by the way very popular in France.  Different types of cherries, cropped during June and July, are bought from different origins in Europe.  These products are canned in syrup and in water and are used in catering and pastry as well.
